Kepes taught at the
Institute of Design in Chicago
from 1937 to 1943 before moving to
MIT
, where he famously founded the
Center for Advanced Visual Studies
.
Gittleman studied photography at the Institute of Design in Chicago shortly after Kepes' term; he graduated in 1954 and later taught at
Harvard University's Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts
.
