Over the next three months NPR and several local stations are collaborating on coverage of issues related to November's election. The idea behind the project is to build nationwide reporting and conversation, a week at a time, on important issues.

During the week beginning Aug. 29 NPR's newsmagazines will ask "What is America's place in the world?" and will look at military, diplomatic, economic and cultural aspects of that question. You'll hear the reports on Morning Edition and All Things Considered. In September, A Nation Engaged takes a deeper dive into economic opportunity in America.

We know some KGOU listeners who use our online audio stream have been less than satisfied with the new online player we installed a year ago. In the next few weeks we'll be switching to another new player that we hope will work better on all devices. This change will also affect the KGOU stream on other websites and apps, such as NPR.org and TuneIn. Our aim is to provide the best streaming experience we can to the most listeners we can. NPR Music is producing a new series of video documentaries on the creative process as told by those who create popular recordings.

"Noteworthy" is hosted by Jason King, co-founder and professor at New York University's Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music and a music journalist and musician himself. The series will explore the ways these artists create, and how their personal background -- race, family, place and the music they love -- illuminates their work. New videos will be added into the fall.
