DO YOU STILL OWE FOG SERVICE HOURS?
Students often work off some of their family's FOG Service Hours (30 per family) over the summer. Nancy can be very flexible, allowing your student to work the days of the week and hours of the day that are most convenient for you. Additionally, when it is time for your student to complete their first job application, Nancy can serve as a reference. Just contact her by email at [email protected] or call the school office at 814-867-1177.
SENIORS AND PARENTS: COLLEGE FINANCING

If you plan to apply for federal financial aid for college, go to https://fafsa.ed.gov/.

Both a parent and the student need to create a PIN number. I t's recommended you do this NOW as it can take awhile to receive your number.

Then, remember to have your tax return ready to go as soon as possible so you can have accurate financial aid information when making your college choice.
COLLEGE PREP RESOURCES
Parents of juniors and seniors, check out the free resources at the College Board Website. The website offers general college planning guidelines and Financial Aid 101.

ATTENTION SPORTS PARTICIPANTS
If you're a Grace Prep student and are planning to play any sports this year there are additional health forms required by the PIAA. Click here to print, complete, and return to Grace Prep prior to August 15th for fall sports and November 18th for winter sports. This packet is in addition to the school physical form which is located at the below article "WHAT'S UP DOC?". Students will not be allowed to practice until their packets have been completed and returned.
ENGINEERING EXPLORATIONS 2.5
Following the success of a high altitude balloon launch with Raytheon last Spring, Mr. Regan has upgraded the Engineering Explorations class for this year.  The class is designed for all students from grades 9 to 12 with a possible, maybe somewhat, kind of, sort of, interest in an engineering career with the goal of finding out what the field is all about.  We hope that you will figure out if you are really interested in engineering through activities, field trips, and exploration.

The first half of the year will focus on the skills common to all disciplines of engineering.  Students will learn the engineering process of solving a problem, learn to communicate ideas with design, and maybe even learn to design with AutoCAD.  For the second half of the year, we will focus on specific disciplines of engineering, such as civil and environmental with the goal of understanding how work in these fields impacts our daily lives.

We will be using the resources available from The  International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA), a professional organization for technology, innovation, design, and engineering educators through a website called Engineering by Design.  Students will also have the opportunity to join the local  Technology Student Association (TSA), which provides opportunities to compete and lead in several technology challenges.
WHAT'S UP DOC?
GET A CHECK UP OVER THE SUMMER Please have your doctor complete our  Private Physician's Report of Physical Exam  form this summer.  This is required for all new students, those entering their junior year and those participating in sports. Remember, all sports  participants must also have their physician complete the PIAA packet, which is  located in the above article "ATTENTION SPORTS PARTICIPANTS". Students will not be allowed to practice until their packets have been completed and returned If you have any questions, email Nancy or call the school office at 814-867-1177.

SPEND YOUR TUITION DOLLARS AT SHEETZ!

After signing up, you access your account and purchase gift cards from your favorite places to spend money (Think: grocery stores, gas stations, clothing stores, and restaurants). Your order is delivered to the school and sent home with your student, or you're welcome to stop by and pick it up. Then, when you visit these locations, you pay for your purchases with your gift cards. A percentage of each gift card purchased goes into your account and every June it is paid to you via tuition reduction. So, pay tuition by spending money!

The new year is just beginning. So start earning your savings now with scrip! If you're interested in signing up contact Jean at  [email protected].
