Firehouse Cook-Off
Congratulations to Station 44 on winning the 2016 Firehouse Cook-Off - Breakfast Casserole Edition! Below is the winning recipe. Thanks to all the Carmel Firehouses for joining us last Saturday with their delicious breakfast casseroles and for everyone who came and sampled the different casseroles in the rain and voted for their favorite.
Station 44 Italian Breakfast Casserole
- 1 roll of pizza dough
- 1/2 lb. ham
- 1/3 lb. salami
- 1 lb. Italian sausage
- onion
- red, green, yellow pepper
- shredded cheese (mozzarella, provolone, parmesan, romano)
- 18 eggs
- salt, pepper, basil, garlic, Italian seasoning
- Put the roll of dough in a 9x13 inch pan. - Layer the ham, then salami, followed by browned crumbled Italian sausage - Chop up the onion and peppers and layer on top of the meat - Put a thin layer of cheese on top of the onion and peppers - Beat the 18 eggs and season to taste - Pour the eggs on top and then bake 25-35 minutes at 350 F until almost done - Then put a layer of cheese on top and finish baking until melted |
