Docent Training at LAMOTH
Begins September 29th

Are you interested in becoming a docent at LAMOTH? 

Our docent training program begins Thursday, September 29th for 10 weeks. Prospective docents will meet at the Museum on Thursdays from September 29th-December 8th to learn about the galleries and Holocaust history from the Education Department and guest lecturers. This learning experience will prepare you to teach and impart your knowledge of this important history to Museum visitors of all ages.

L'Dough V'Dough

This week, the Brawerman Fellows from the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles came to LAMOTH for a L'Dough V'Dough session as part of their annual retreat. As they braided challah, Holocaust Survivors Betty Cohen and Eva Nathanson shared their narratives with them. Challah was donated to the Israel Levin Center.

Youth Policy Institute

Students from the Youth Policy Institute summer program visited LAMOTH this week. After a customized tour of the galleries, they listened to Tomas Kovar share his story of survival. Tomas was born in Slovakia and spent the war years in hiding with his family.
Sunday Survivor Speaker Series

This Weekend:  Special Dialogue with Barbara Mack

This weekend, as part of our Sunday Survivor Speaker Series, photographer Barbara Mack will be discussing her exhibit "Survivors and What They Carry." This exhibit, currently on display at LAMOTH, features photographs of Holocaust Survivors who pose with objects from their past. Two Survivors featured in this exhibit, Claire Roth and Jean Greenstein, will discuss the exhibit and their objects with Barbara Mack. 

A docent-led tour of the Museum will immediately follow.
