Adoption News

It's already August and what a summer it has been! We've had a busy last couple of months, sending 44 dogs and 5 cats to their forever homes, bringing our total adoptions to 137 for the year. That's 137 lives saved thanks to all of you!
As animals go home, we rescue more to take their place. So when you think about it, you're really saving two lives when you adopt. Think you're ready for a new best friend? Check out our available animals at the link below .
Featured Pet: Linus

Speaking of adoptable animals, have you met Linus? This handsome guy is a 3 year old 61 lb. Akita mix who is the perfect blend of affectionate, playful, and independent! He does well with well-behaved dogs and walks great on a leash. He even knows a few tricks! Linus would prefer a mature household without any young children, as he prefers a mellow environment. To see more information about Linus, please check out his PetFinder page HERE. If you think he may be the perfect match for you, come out to our facility and meet him 12-5pm (closed Mondays and Wednesdays).
Event Updates
We hope you were able to make it to the Pick-a-Pooch adoption event in July! We had some amazing dogs with us, and apparently the public thought so too...7 of the 10 dogs we brought were adopted by people who met them at this event! If you missed us, you can come see us at one of our upcoming offsite events.

Happy Tails: Max

Max (left) and his fur-sister, Mollie
"We adopted Max on January 3rd, 2016 when he was about 18 months old. Max was a 87 lb. Black Lab and German Shepherd mix. At first we thought we might bring him home each day for a few days as a trial, but after having him at home the first day we decided we wanted him to stay for good.

We did have some bumps along the way. Max was very dominant and be barked with such ferocity that is scared some of our house guests. After working with a trainer, Max is now a different dog. He still has dominant tendencies but he knows now that we are in charge (his pack leaders) and he is just such a happy dog!

We are all so happy Max is part of our lives and he has settled into our family like he has always been a part of it. We all love him and are so glad that when we decided to bring a new dog into our home that we decided to 'Adopt Not Shop!"

Thank you for all you did to make Max's transition into our home go smoothly and thank you for all you do every day for all the other pets. We recommend Town and Country to friends all the time!"

In other news...

We know it's been hard to see our sign from the road when you drive up to the shelter, but no more! We have a brand new sign, dedicated to Mario the dog, that makes it impossible to miss us.
