Save the Date! Shaare Emeth Family Picnic
Sunday, August 21, Noon-2:00 p.m.
Join us for our 2nd annual Shaare Emeth Family Picnic, hosted by MOSHE and WOSE. Rain or shine, there will be food, games, crafts and more under the Camp Emeth Pavilion! Admission is free but please bring one non-perishable food item per person to donate to the Jewish Food Pantry.

Harvey & Leanne Schneider Interfaith Forum Church Services with Rabbi Bennet t
Sunday, Aug. 28, 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. at Parkway UCC 
We are invited to join in worship and fellowship at  Parkway United Church of Christ as part of the Harvey and Leanne Schneider Interfaith Forum. Rabbi Jim Bennett will speak at both services with traditional worship at  9:30 a.m., followed by coffee and pastries, and informal worship at 11:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon with Congregation Marthoma. All are welcome to attend either service, however space is limited for the luncheon. If you plan to attend the luncheon, please RSVP with  Debbie Bram .

There's still time to become a sponsor for the Heart and Soul Gala! This year we will honor  Marilyn and Ken Steinback  with the prestigious Harris Frank Community Service Award, and  Sharon Greenberg Stefanie and  Tod Greenberg , Dan  and  Darcy Glidewell and their families with the L'dor Va'dor Award. The evening will also feature a fun-filled show by nationally recognized comedian, David Glickman.

Shaare Emeth sends our college students care packages during the holidays to show we're thinking of them. We want to include as many college students as possible in this program.  Use this  online form to give us your contact information so we can stay in touch. It is important to fill out this form every year as we don't retain students' mailing addresses from previous years.

Collection for New Americans 
August 8-September 18
Our  Tzedek Committee is running a special collection for New Americans who have arrived in St. Louis through the International Institute of St. Louis. So far, the Institute has welcomed 100 families. The expectation is that we will welcome 950 families by year's end and 1400 during 2017. We are only accepting certain items on  this list. If you have any questions, please contact  Harvey Lehrer who is chairing this collection. Below are other ways you can help:

Monthly Volunteer Opportunities

Our tradition teaches us to welcome the stranger as guests in our homes: Hachnasat OrchimRoom at the Inn is just that at Congregation Shaare Emeth.  Are you able to help out with entertaining our guests in our congregation home? Feed our guests or transport them? Perhaps sleep over at Temple with them? Please contact Barb Feldacker.
