Looking Backward-Part 1
The future is uncertain, but we have hopes and desires. Often our hope arises from our memory of what we have experienced-or at least what we think was good in the past. Can we embrace the future with our expectation that it'll be like the past in our memories?

Proposal to bring minister to full-time salary

Several Sundays ago, Ian Hunter made a presentation about the financial implications of the proposal to call Rev. Russ Menk as our full-time settled minister.  This will be voted on at a congregational meeting in two separate votes: the first (scheduled on Sunday, September 11) will be to increase the minister's salary in the current fiscal year to be "seven eighths" of the mid-point salary for a UUA minister in this region, and, in the following fiscal year (2017-2018), to bring his salary to the mid-point level for a UUA minister in this region. The second vote (date TBD): To call Russ to be our settled minister.  For the full text of this presentation,  click here .

About Faith, Acts of Faith and a Plan

Las t Sunday, Ginny Aragon made a presentation about the priority for numerical growth (growth in numbers) and maturational growth (growth in depth and commitment) as a foundation for supporting our full-time settled minister, along with some of the plans that are already in place to support this.

There will be two separate votes at a congregational meeting after the service: the first (scheduled on Sunday, September 11) will be to increase the minister's salary in the current fiscal year to be "seven eighths" of the mid-point salary for a UUA minister in this region, and, in the following fiscal year (2017-2018), to bring his salary to the mid-point level for a UUA minister in this region. The second vote (date TBD) will be to call Russ to be our settled minister.  For the full text of this presentation, click here.

Other pulpit editorials from previous Sundays about aspects of the call and its financial implications are posted on the members only site of the UUF Website at uufscc.org.

There will be a special meeting after the service at 12 noon on Sunday, August 28 in the Gallery to provide an opportunity for members and friends to speak with members of the Mutual Discernment Committee, the Board and the Committee on Shared Ministry,  to ask question and share any concerns about the process to call Russ as our full-time settled minister.
