Celebration Time!
Summer is wrapping up, and harvest is under way. With Labor Day approaching, it's time to celebrate at the Tasting Room on the Rivers!

Join us for the Columbia Gorge Crush Kickoff Weekend! Harvest has begun, which means Lyle is abuzz with the annual frenzy. It will be fun.

The celebration runs from September 3-5, and we will be open 11:00-6:00 each day. As usual, there are many reasons to take the gorgeous drive to Lyle...We'll be pouring an all-star lineup of Idiot's Grace and Memaloose wines, accompanied by terrific cheeses.  Four selected wines will be on sale at 25% off, i.e.,  Whimsy, Riesling, Rosé and Syrah are each just $15 a bottle!!

Plus, cases are 20% off; any six wines are 10% off. The deck awaits you, as does the year's finest weather (milder temperatures and less wind). September is the finest weather month in our fair town.

News
Not only are we beginning harvest...but  bottling is on full throttle during non-picking days. Soon to be released: 2014 Idiot's Grace Sangiovese and the new vintages of Primitivo and other favorites. Never a minute of downtime at the winery...

And, if it isn't wild enough, we have broken ground on the new winery and tasting room in beautiful Mosier (OR).
Architects, permits, licenses, contactors and their suppliers have finally converged to make our dream actually happen. We will keep you updated.

The Vintage
"The year of the donut". Hot spring, cool late spring and early summer, hot late summer - a very unusual pattern. The crop is average-sized and early varieties are delicious. We've spent the past few weeks putting on the bird netting, but our feathered friends haven't come through yet on migration. (Some voracious Western Tanagers visited early). We have cut back a bit on watering and dropped an immense amount of fruit to the ground, to concentrate flavors.

Some have asked about our yield per acre, to which we replay: 1 ½ to 2 tons of fruit per acre is our normal production level. And, we now farm about 20 acres of organic grapes.

So, be with us for the excitement of harvest by celebrating the miracle of wine-making at the tasting room this coming weekend! Experience what makes the Gorge wine scene so totally unique.

Salud!
