Team DPS Top 5: What You're Looking Forward to this School Year
As the first bell is about to ring at most of our schools, lots of us are feeling excited at all that's ahead (and maybe a little nervous, too). Tell us what you're most looking forward to this school year for a chance to win a DPS prize packet from the DPS Store.

Volunteers Needed for First-Day Festivities and Support
With back-to-school quickly approaching on Aug. 22 for most of our schools, we want to make the start of 2016-17 memorable for our kids -- and that's why all members of Team DPS are invited to get involved in this exciting day. We have received requests from schools around DPS looking for some extra support in their first-day festivities and operations.

Updated Dates: Team DPS Forums on Race
Members of Team DPS are invited to come together and discuss the concerns raised by African-American educators in the recent report by Dr. Sharon Bailey. Join the discussion from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 29 at the Emily Griffith Campus. NOTE: The forum on Aug. 19 at North is cancelled and will be rescheduled for a later time.

Just Announced: Employee Wellness Fall Line-Up
The Employee Wellness Fall Line-Up is filled with opportunities to keep you and your team members energized and motivated, with opportunities including DPS intramurals, gym discounts, mindfulness courses, cooking classes, massages and much more. See the full list of what's ahead.

New Department Names at School-Support Central Office
With a fresh school year comes new updates to departments in our School-Support Central Office. The former Chief Schools Office (CSO) and Academic Innovation Office (AIO) will now be called the Division of Leadership, Teaching and Learning. Additionally, the Division of Student Services has been renamed Student Equity and Opportunity: Success in School, Success in Life.

Discount Alert: Lala's Loves Teachers
To thank our educators for all of the hard work they do throughout the year, Lala's Wine Bar & Pizzeria is offering a free glass of sangria with the purchase of an entrée to Team DPS members who bring in a school ID card. Lala's will also provide a free bottle of bubbly for groups of six or more academic colleagues. The offer can be redeemed more than once for dine-in-only customers, valid through Aug. 31.
