President's Message
September 2016
|
It's almost September! For me, that means back to school for the little one, soccer practices and games, TCU Football, and the end of my organization's fiscal year.
For our AFP chapter, that means budget planning, slating of the 2017 officers, and final preparations for Fundamentals of Fundraising in October and National Philanthropy Day Luncheon in November.
Do you have new fundraisers on your staff? Are you new to fundraising? Consider attending our Fundamentals of Fundraising class October 6 - 7. In partnership with our friends in Dallas, this is a great two day course designed specifically for those in the field with less than five years of experience. Register by September 1 to take advantage of the early-bird rate of $350 for AFP members.
Are you looking for a great way to honor that special philanthropist of your organization? If you haven't already considered purchasing a table to the event at Cendera Center, do so now to take advantage of the early bird rate (Member tables are $650 through September 30). This is a great way to honor someone who supports your organization by naming him or her as a table honoree.
I look forward to seeing you all at our September meeting on September 12, where we will learn from Amy Michie, CPA, about making sure fundraising and accounting get along to tell the story of the numbers.
