SportFest 2016 will be September 17th, 2016 at the Servus Sports Centre.  The new location means more room for more interactive exhibitors!  New this year will be 'Come try it' areas, as well as a sporting equipment 'Swap and Buy', a roving gym, and much more!  Exhibitor registration is now open,  but only for a limited time!  For more information and to register, visit our website: www.sportfest.ca
Lethbridge Jr. Giants Win Nationals!
The Junior Little League Championship wrapped up in Lethbridge  today with the Alberta representative (Medicine Hat Expos) taking on the Host (Lethbridge Jr. Giants) in the final. The score was 12-1  in favor of the Giants. The Giants will move on to compete in the Junior Little League World Series tournament in Taylor, MI from August 14th-21st. Congratulations and best of luck in Taylor! 
Community Groups Requiring Funding Assistance - Look No Further
Join the City of Lethbridge staff on Tuesday, August 30th at 1:00pm or on Wednesday, September 7th at 5:00pm at the City Council Chambers to learn about opportunities that are available for Lethbridge organizations to develop projects and move them forward. Learn about potential funding opportunities, requirements for different funding programs, process/deadlines, and more! 
Registration for Fall Classes Now Open!
Fall 2016 fitness classes are now open for registration! Classes run from September 12 - December 16, 2016 with choices like Yoga, Barre, Boot Camp, Cycle, Zumba, Tai Chi, and many more! Be Fit for Life offers walk up or phone registration.

With the summer games underway, here is a rundown of when the rest of our hometown athletes will be competing, as well as how our athletes have done so far!

Heather Steacy - Women's Hammer Throw
Athletics run from August 13th - 21st.  The Women's Hammer Throw qualifying event is Friday August 12, Final event is Monday August 15th

Liz Gleadle - Women's Javelin Throw
Athletics run from August 13th - 21st.  The Women's Javelin Throw qualifying event is Tuesday August 16, Final event is Thursday August 18th

Results:
Rachel Nicole - Women's Swimming
Entering the finals with a national ranking of 18th, Rachel was able to surpass her original ranking and finish the finals with an incredible  5th place! 

Ashley Steacy and Kayla Moleschi - Women's Rugby Sevens
After a successful tournament, Canada was able to take their match against Great Britain by winning 33 - 10 to earn the Bronze medal!

The #PhysEdSummit is a free online conference with the mission of providing digital professional learning opportunities for health and physical education through sharing, discussing, and reflecting best practices. The conference will take play on August 27.
