Clean our Bay shoreline on September 17! 
Join thousands statewide for California Coastal Cleanup Day 
This year's  California Coastal Cleanup is Saturday, September 17, with several sites in West County.

This event is part of the world's largest volunteer effort to clean our oceans, shores and waterways. It's a great opportunity to join friends improving the health and beauty of our San Francisco Bay shoreline, while having fun. 

Once again I'll be hosting a Richmond Shoreline Cleanup at Shimada Park, a tradition I've enjoyed for more than 25 years. There are several other West County locations as well. 

Here's a line-up: 

Richmond Shoreline Cleanup
Where: Meet at  Shimada Friendship Park (Marina Bay Parkway at the Bay)
Time: 9 a.m. to noon. Live music and free healthy lunch at noon!

Pt. Isabel Cleanup, Richmond (East Bay Regional Park District)
Time: 8:30 a.m. to noon.  

Richmond Greenway at Carlson Avenue 
Where: Greenway Trail near Carlson Avenue 
Time: 8:30 a.m. to noon. 

North Richmond Ballpark/Verde Elementary School
Where: Near 2000 Giaramita St., Richmond, 94801
Time: 9 a.m. - noon. 

Wildcat Staging Area 
Where: Richmond Parkway between Gertrude and Pittsburg avenues.
Time: 9 a.m to noon 

Pt. Pinole Shoreline Cleanup (East Bay Regional Park District)
Time: 8:30 a.m. to noon. 
Getting there: Take Giant Road exit off Richmond Parkway to park entrance.
