2015 Gerard Boulay Sancerre Chavignol
Loire Valley, France

Regularly $29.99, Special Price $25.49
Special 12 Bottle Case Price $287.90 ($23.99/btl)

This week's wine offer is like sunshine in a bottle! When summer begins, Sauvignon Blanc sales soar because it's refreshing and crisp, with plenty of fruit, and a thirst quenching, herbaceous character. Each year, as we enter August, we receive a limited supply of one of our best selling wines from this grape, Gerard Boulay Sancerre.

Sancerre is widely considered the best expression of Sauvignon Blanc. The Boulay family has been noted as making extraordinary white wine since the 14th century in Chavignol, the heart of Sancerre. It's like they were looking out for all of us summertime white wine drinkers 500 years before white wine grapes were ever widely planted in the region. The centuries of practice is evident when you open the bottle and the very essence of summer is poured into the glass.

You'll sense flavors of ripe, juicy yellow peach, along with the tartness of sun drenched citrus, and cooling notes of fresh cut grass. Whether you want to accentuate the beauty of summer or hold on to a few bottles to re-live the summer fun later, this is a wine not to miss and will be gone before you know it. Enjoy !
Buche Rondin de Chevre
Loire Valley, France
Regularly $15.99/lb, Special Price $12.79

Buche Rondin was one of the first French goat cheeses exported to the U.S. Every sliced round has to two textures to offer; a fat, sometimes inch thick, creamline forms beneath the downy, edible white rind - a perfect visual of surface ripening in action. The large format means that the creeping goo will never reach the center, so there's always fresh, fluffy, lemony chevre left for contrast. The Gerard Boulay Sancerre, along with this Loire Valley cheese, will complete a trifecta of flavor.
