Each year, as we enter August, we receive a limited supply of one of our best selling wines from this grape, Gerard Boulay Sancerre.
Sancerre is widely considered the best expression of Sauvignon Blanc. The Boulay family has been noted as making extraordinary white wine since the 14th century in Chavignol, the heart of Sancerre. It's like they were looking out for all of us summertime white wine drinkers 500 years before white wine grapes were ever widely planted in the region. The centuries of practice is evident when you open the bottle and the very essence of summer is poured into the glass.
You'll sense flavors of ripe, juicy yellow peach, along with the tartness of sun drenched citrus, and cooling notes of fresh cut grass.
