I hope you have enjoyed the summer so far! It's been hot but I personally will take that over snow any day. It's time to think about
Professional Development for the upcoming year. Here in the training department, we have been very busy planning our course offerings for FY '17. We looked at the results of the surveys we sent out in April and we listened to the participants at the Work Plan and Calendar Committee meeting we had in July.
We are offering training on some of the new initiatives that EEC has put forth including Early English Language Development Standards, for those programs that have Dual Language Learners, the MA Standards for Social Emotional Learning and Approaches to Play, which came out this year and Children Under Stress and /or experiencing trauma.
We have also included more Infant/Toddler offerings and of course Behavior courses. We have two QRIS Training Days planned for November 11th and April 17th where educators will be able to choose one CEU from three being offered to participate in for the day. We will serve lunch to the participants.
We also listened to our Out of School Time educators and we have an OST Training Day planned for Saturday, April 29th where they will be able to choose one CEU out of three being offered and will include lunch.
We are offering two hour workshops for those who need training hours for licensing and Continuing Education Units (CEU) for those who need them for QRIS. Please remember that if you take a 0.5 CEU training it is equivalent to 5 hours of training or a 1.0 CEU is equivalent to 10 hours of training.
