Community Meeting Re: 441-447 W Arlington Place
You are invited to join the Park West Community Association (PWCA) and my office at a community meeting to review the proposed redevelopment of 441 - 447 W. Arlington Place.
My office will be present at this meeting to monitor the discussion, take notes and record your
feedback.
WHAT: Proposed Redevelopment of 441 - 447 W. Arlington Place
WHO: Hosted by Alderman Michele Smith and Park West Community Association
WHEN: Thursday, August 18th at 6:00 PM
WHERE: Gaslight Bar and Grille, 2450 N Clark Street
The project, in the Arlington & Roslyn Landmark District, contains a
single family home and a vacant lot. The applicant seeks to rehabilitate the existing single
family home and build a 4-story, 8-unit residential structure with 14 parking stalls, two of which will be reserved for the existing home.
The parcel currently has two underlying zoning designations: the Arlington Place
frontage, classified as an RM-5, and the rear of the lot, B1-2. The applicant is
seeking zoning approvals to eliminate the B1-2 designation and make the entire site an RM-5
designation.
I hope you can join my office and PWCA to meet directly the development team to
gain a better understanding of this proposal and answer your questions.

MLK Memorial Dedication
I was proud to join my fellow aldermen and many other public officials to celebrate the dedication of a memorial to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at Marquette Park last Friday.
This important monument commemorates the 50th anniversary of Dr. King's historic 1966 march through Marquette Park for fair housing in Chicago. Read more
here. Longtime 43rd Ward resident Don Rose was press secretary to the Freedom Movement and wrote an account recently in the
Sun-Times.
