Welcome to the 2016-17 school year!  It's time to get this show on the road. New students, new staff and new opportunities will help to get Take Stock Manatee to school on time with our backpacks fully stocked with new supplies.  We can't wait to see where this school year will take us! Student Achievements

Take Stock Manatee students and alumni are making the news!  Here are a few of our students' accolades that came across our desk this summer we'd like to recognize:   
  • Manatee STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) national events winners -
    Gyvalia Henry, Braden River Middle, for Chapter in Display Review,  Keiontai Henry, Lakewood Ranch High, for Advocacy.  
  • TSA National Conference Finals winners - Nicolas Caballero, Nolan Middle, 5th place Digital Photography, Paula Jean, Bayshore High, Structural Engineering finalist
  • All Area Softball Team - JoJo Muldoon, Bayshore High, will play at College of Central Florida this fall
  • Emanuel Leon has joined the team as an intern architect at Fawley Bryant Architects. Leon, who had been mentored by President Mike Bryant and the late Rick Fawley through Manatee County's Take Stock in Children program, recently graduated from the University of South Florida with a Master of Architecture degree.

Rock the Vote

Local elections including the Manatee County School Board selection will be held on August 30, 2016.  The new School Board members will have a direct impact on the students in our school district so please make sure to research the candidates and rock the vote!

Meet Your College Success Coaches 

We have made some changes to our team so please see below to confirm your College Success Coach:

Susan Knowles remains our West County College Success Coach and she will serve the students and mentors at Bayshore, Manatee & Palmetto High, Harllee, King, Lee, Lincoln & Sugg Middle Schools and SCF Collegiate.  She can be reached at  [email protected] or 941-751-6550 ext. 2074.

Cheryl Evans is our new full-time College Success Coach serving the East County.  Cheryl has a Master's Degree in Education and has extensive experience serving children in poverty.  She will serve the students and mentors at Braden River, Lakewood Ranch and Southeast High, Braden River, Buffalo Creek, Haile, Johnson, & Nolan Middle, and Imagine Lakewood Ranch and Manatee School for the Arts Charter Schools.  Cheryl will start on August 18th and at that time, she can be reached at  [email protected]or 941-751-6550 ext. 2063.

Holly Gray will be joining us as our College Success Coach serving our College Students.  Holly brings over 10 years' experience as a College Counselor helping high school students in the US and abroad achieve their college dreams.  She will also support our High School seniors as they make their final college choices.  Holly will start on August 10th and at that time, she can be reached at  [email protected] or 941-751-6550 ext. 2373
