Alex Fernandez, CEO of Miami based Gastro Health, LLC will be speaking at the 2016 American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) , GI Outlook Conference, August 5th - 7th, 2016 at the JW Marriott in Washington, DC. An expert in GI practice management, Mr. Fernandez will be speaking on How to Brand and Promote your GI Practice and Competing in the Retail Space.

 

According to Mr. Fernandez, "It is not a secret that the business side of healthcare is swiftly changing. Both physicians and practice administrators should be looking for new ways to connect with patients. In the past, physicians would walk the halls of a hospital's emergency department and visit the physicians lounge to develop relationships with their colleagues and gain referrals. Today, with hospitals, managed care plans, healthcare reform and the internet, it is much more difficult to build a practice only by physician referrals."

Plaza Health Network (PHN), the largest not-for-profit network of rehabilitation and skilled nursing centers in South Florida, recently announced that five PHN centers have been recognized as recipients of the 2016 Bronze - Commitment to Quality Award for dedication to improving the lives of residents through quality care. The national recognition was awarded to Arch Plaza, Aventura Plaza, Jackson Plaza and South Pointe Plaza in 2016 and Ponce Plaza in 2015.

 

The award program, presented by the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL), honors centers across the nation that have demonstrated their commitment to improving quality care for seniors and for individuals with disabilities.
