EBCBOR's Community Service Committee volunteered at the Family Promise Walk-In Dinner on Monday, where volunteers prepared meals for over 100 Bergen County residents at Bergen County Housing, Health and Human Services Center (BHHHSC) in Hackensack.

EPA Unveils $11M Cleanup Plan for Kearny Superfund Site

An $11 million cleanup plan for one of the most contaminated industrial sites in the Meadowlands would cap pockets of polluted soil in asphalt and place a barrier over fouled wetlands, according to the proposal unveiled Wednesday by environmental regulators. 


Palisades Park High-Rise Proposal Worries Neighbors

A multistory residential building is once again being proposed on wetlands and neighbors are already collecting signatures in opposition to the plan scheduled to be heard before the borough's zoning board. The developer, Berkeley Palisades Park LLC, wants to construct a 17-story residential building consisting of 154 one- and two-bedroom apartments, according to paperwork submitted to the borough's building department.

PACE Program Changes Place "Unnecessary Pressure on Homeowners"

the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) and Department of Veteran's Affairs (VA) announced changes to the treatment of Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) loans. This new guidance, which goes into effect immediately, states that PACE loans will remain in a subordinated position on most FHA mortgages.
