5 More Weeks!
A Word from the Board - Board Director - Bill Johnson

Bill Johnson
Board Director

The St. Charles Chamber Board....what do those directors do?

For those not familiar with the structure of the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce, the chamber includes a professional staff that operates the day to day functions of the chamber and more importantly, are key leaders who also give direction and work very hard to provide a first class experience and great value and service to our chamber members.

And then there's the board of directors of the chamber.  So what do they do?

The board is made up of leaders, representatives and business owners of member businesses.  They meet regularly to provide oversight of the chamber, ensure that the interest of the members are being met, and along with the chamber staff, are providing policy and direction of the organization.  Much of the program work stems from input and ideas generated at a monthly board of directors meeting.

In addition, many of the directors either sit on a chamber committee or Chair a committee.  For myself, I began my involvement with the St. Charles Chamber as a member of the membership committee.  Since that time, my role has evolved in both a director position and being Chairman of the Membership committee.   I have found that committee involvement is a great way to stay connected with the chamber and gain the most from your membership as well.  (Hint, Hint!).   And I feel fortunate that my company, BMO Harris Bank, strongly supports and encourages this type of community involvement.

Finally, one of the annual traditions of the St. Charles Chamber is our Chamber of Commerce week celebration which is scheduled for the week of Sept. 12 th.   The staff and directors are currently planning the week's events so watch for more details on this, including the date of the St. Charles Chamber open house, in the coming weeks!

I hope all enjoy the rest of your summer!

All raffle proceeds will be donated to the WBC's quarterly charity: Embrace A Family.

Brighton Gardens Assisted Living
Living at Brighton Gardens of St. Charles

Redefining senior living, the Brighton Gardens of St. Charles focuses on the individuality of each resident and has set the standard in the Assisted Living industry. Minutes from downtown St. Charles, Brighton Gardens offers both Assisted Living and Memory Care. Our mission is to champion the quality of life for all seniors both inside and outside of our community.  Family members and guests are always welcome to visit and enjoy our enriching atmosphere.  Our community pets, Kira the dog and Max the cat may even come up to say hello.

Our tenured staff and warm surroundings makes the Brighton Gardens an ideal place to call home.  It is our belief that our residents should be able to live with purpose at any age which is why each and every activity is tailored especially for them. Transitioning to Assisted Living doesn't mean giving up the things you enjoy.  Our residents enjoy outings to the Butterfly House in Geneva, Kane County Cougar's Games, and monthly movie outings.  Most recently, we had the Elgin Community College Orchestra come out to perform for our residents and family members for our Alzheimer's BBQ and Fundraiser where we raised over $300 for the Alzheimer's Association.  It is safe to assume that we are an active group!

All fun aside, our 24/7 nursing staff and designated care managers are the heart of this community.  They go above and beyond to assure our residents have outstanding care.  Their training is extensive in both general resident care and dementia.  Our team provides the ideal living situation for seniors in need of support while maintaining their independence.
If you know of anyone or have a loved one who would benefit from our community, please contact Jennifer Mallo, Director of Sales at 630-587-6120.  We would love to have you visit and stay for lunch.  The food is just another benefit to living here at the Brighton Gardens of St. Charles!  It's delicious!
