This Week in Westcreek

Current Announcements

"The best way to predict the future is to invent it."  ~  Immanuel Kant

From the Community Manager's Desk

Quincy Harper Sr.
As we move forward with the transition, it's important that you know that assessments can still be paid in the Community Center Office, as well as any additional fees that are associated with specific transactions.

Until now, you have had the option to pay assessments and fees via PayPal, check/money order (through the mail, or on site) or pay in cash at the office. Additionally, you could use a credit/debit card while visiting the office.  Under this system, the Association had been absorbing the added fees associated with the convenience of using PayPal and the credit card machine.

As of August 1, 2016, you will have the option to pay your assessments online once you register for your account at www.spectrumam.com using the access code sent to each homeowner last week. The PayPal option for paying assessments has been turned off effective July 31, 2016.

If you choose to pay your assessments via the www.spectrumam.com website, please know that there is a 3.5% convenience fee when paying with a credit or debit card.  You will also have the option to pay with an e-check and there is a $1.99 fee for that service.  These fees do not go to Spectrum Association Management or VWOA; they are the merchant vendor's fees. You can still come into the office and pay your assessments in cash, or a check/money order without incurring a fee. However, credit/debit card payments in the office will be processed through the www.spectrumam.com website and assessed the above mentioned fee.

All other programs fees (sports, facility rentals, etc.) may be paid via cash, check, money order or debit/credit card in the office and there are no convenience fees associated.

Thank you for your support and understanding. Please contact the staff, the Board or me if you have any questions.

Please don't hesitate to stop in and see me or drop me a note at (
[email protected]) if you have any other questions.

Don't forget to check "This Week in Westcreek" for future updates!

Over the past couple of days, each homeowner should have received the Spectrum postcard pictured above.

We encourage you to immediately register your online service center account at www.spectruman.com using the access code provided on the back of your postcard.

If you have any questions, or need anything at all, give us a call at 210-679-8761 or chat with us online using the Live Chat feature.

You can also email us at [email protected].

If you were to move out of the neighborhood, would your neighbors miss you?

Everyone can agree that home ownership is part of the "American Dream."  But that Dream can quickly turn into a nightmare, if we fail to prepare for routine maintenance and unexpected repairs.  Click here for some tips on how you can protect your American Dream, by having a plan for tackling home maintenance in place.

Village Ambassadors Needed

There are 19 villages in the Villages of Westcreek. We have new residents moving in all the time and our Association would like to give them a personal 'Welcome to the Neighborhood!' We want our new residents to understand that we value and encourage their participation in the community. It is the neighborly thing to do, and it provides an opportunity for developing new friendships or just getting to know your neighbors!

We are looking for volunteers to take on the role as an Ambassador for each of the 19 villages. As new residents move into our villages, the Association would notify the Ambassador for that village. The Ambassador would work with other members of their village who would like to help in welcoming their new residents. By greeting our new residents face to face, it gives us an opportunity to provide information and answer any questions that they may have. Many residents have questions about local gyms, doctors, veterinary services for pets, lawn care...the list is endless.

The first step is find Ambassadors that are willing to help build a team in their village to welcome new residents! You don't have to do all the work, you just have to be willing to help build a team! Please consider helping in welcoming our new residents! If you would like to be an Ambassador or even just a member of the team, please send an email to [email protected] .

Tot Lot and Sports Park Improvements

The VWOA is currently adding a basketball court for young children in the Tot Lot. The area is located behind the swing set and is cordoned off by construction safety fencing. Please stay away from the area, as this is an active construction site.

Additionally, new benches, tables and equipment are being installed throughout the Sports Park. Please stay away from the areas where the work is being done. We look forward to all of the new additions for the young children and residents of our community.

Community Tips
VWOA Standards Tips

Fence Repairs
  • Repair/replace any portion of wooden fencing that is broken, warped, missing or leaning from its intended position. If replacing portions that are currently stained as approved by the ARC, new wood must be stained the same color.
Click Here to view the Standards !

Property Improvements Applications (PIA)
  • Lessees/renters must obtain written permission from the owner and submit it with the PIA.

  • If you have submitted a PIA for review and you need to speak with the ARC Committee, arrangements must be made with the Standards Department in order to place you on the Committee's agenda.  Please call the office at 210-679-8761 and ask to speak with the Standard's Department to make these arrangements.

  • Speed limit should be kept to 20 mph or below in the Villages and in front of sports park complex. Just a reminder that school is out and many more children are out and about in our neighborhoods.  Kids on bikes, balls rolling in the street, and kids running after them can lead to deadly consequences. Please be cautious when driving around in the Villages and be aware of your surroundings to help eliminate any accidents and injuries.

Community Reminders

Help Us Get Connected!
