Be sure to mark your calendar for Thursday, Aug. 11 at 8 a.m. when the Blount Partnership, Twin City Dealerships, First Tennessee and CSX will host a local school superintendents briefing with superintendents; Brian Bell, Alcoa City Schools; Rob Britt, Blount County Schools and Mike Winstead, Maryville City Schools, to give us an update on what is happening in our education systems.
 
Also, save the date for Thursday, Sept. 8 to join us for the 15th annual Taste of Blount. Tickets go on sale Aug. 8 for $25.
 
If you haven't already, get out and vote on August 4 from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. at your local precinct. You must present a valid photo ID to vote. The election is for Federal & State Primary, Blount County General, Friendsville and Townsend City elections. Click here for a sample ballot. November 8 is the general election and the first day of early voting for it is Oct. 19.
 
CHECK OUT THE AUGUST MEMBER-TO-MEMBER PROMOTIONS
New offers are being posted weekly, so check out the Blount County Chamber of Commerce Member-to-Member promotions online. This Member-to-Member Promotional Program offers you and your company the opportunity to market your products and services to the membership.
 
Here's how it works:
1. Submit a PDF of a service, product or discount you'd like to offer to the Chamber membership to [email protected]. Be sure to include an expiration date.
2. An email with all the promotions will be sent out on the final Monday of every month to our member database.
3. All promotions are posted on www.BlountChamber.com
