We hope you are all having a great summer! The Duke of Ed Manitoba is having and exciting and action packed summer. In June we had a Gold Award Ceremony in which 53 participants received their Gold certificates and pins. In July we have had some big and exciting changes among the Duke of Ed staff, and of course, we are very busy getting ready to host LEAD 2016! Gold Award Ceremony 2016
Our fantastic Gold Award Ceremony, June 22nd held at the  Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada. The ceremony included all the Gold Award Achievers listed: His Royal Highness The Prince Edward Earl of Wessex ; The Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba The Honourable Janice C. Filmon; Mr. Hartley Richardson representing the National President; Tom McIlwham the Manitoba President; and the Executive Director Lindsay Stovel.

Introducing...Kevin Michael Stovel!

Our Executive Director Lindsay Stovel welcomed Kevin Michael on July 7, 2016. They are both doing great! We just had to share a photo of Lindsay with her little cutie. 

Little Kevin has already informed us that he is looking forward to registering to start working on his Bronze Duke of Ed Award in July 2030. ;-)

Lindsay will be on Maternity Leave until summer 2017.

Stepping in as Interim Executive Director is Barb Gillis. Barb has been a long time Board Member and has also been the President of our Board of Directors. We are happy that she is here to bring her extensive experience to the position! You can reach Barb at 204-988-3018 or at [email protected]. 

In August, Manitoba will be hosting over 100 participants from all over Canada at LEAD 2016! The event will be held at Camp Cedarwood from August 23-31. Participants of this event will be able to count LEAD as their Residential Project. We are looking forward to all the workshops, guest speakers, group activities, and of course all the great camp activities that Camp Cedarwood has to offer! If you are attending LEAD 2016 and have any questions about the event, give us a call at 204-988-3016.  Sorry we are fully booked and can't accommodate any more participants.
The Council will advise the Prime Minister on national issues such as employment, access to education, building stronger communities, climate change and clean growth. The Council will meet multiple times a year.
If you are aged 16 to 24, now is your chance to apply to become one of the Youth Council members.

Adventurous Journey Opportunities
