Greetings All. An update......................

What a vibrant month we've had. Midwinter, wild winds, drenching rain, chilly! So good to think of water storage filling, and the soil being deeply soaked. But not only has the weather been active, much has happened on the human activity front also.

On the evening of July 16 an enthusiastic group gathered in the beautifully decorated dining room to honour and celebrate Lyell and Andrew Horwood's nine years with us. Their vision, focus, energy, wisdom and love for this place is evident in every aspect of the Riverdell property and the community who've been drawn here. Lyell in particular focussed care of the buildings and the grounds from thoughtful, thorough maintenance, to purchasing of new furniture and facilities in every building, and around every corner - including our Yaris. The regeneration of the riverbank, care of the trees and much new planting were further evidence of her attention - and more! Andrew's skills were well used in Service presentations, workshops, the website and early marketing, ongoing teaching, patient, loving handling of challenging situations, regular mentoring and public health talks - and more! For the past eighteen months they worked together leading weekly half day training of a Foundation for Leadership group. Thank you so much Andrew and Lyell for all that you brought - and have left with us. We know the connection will continue across the miles in a new way. We send our love for this next chapter of your lives.

Ruth Buckingham and Phil Richardson, 2 of the International Trustees of the Emissaries visited us. They came from Cape Town and were with us for 10 days. While here they drew to a rich and magnificent close the Foundation for Leadership program with a 4 day intensive. It was a treat to have them here, and hopefully they'll visit again before too long.

Justin Martin in his new role as Business Manager is quickly mastering his very diverse range of responsibilities. It was a delight to have Justin's wife Sara and their children Dylan and Skye join us for both the Planting Bee and the Celebration party. Dylan's artwork is featured in our promotion of the "Winter Bonfire". Thank you Dylan! Wonderful creativity.

Life continues here in a new cycle. Much is on the move. We'd love to have you come and join in the action - and the stillness - here at Riverdell sometime soon.
