Tisha B'Av Torah Study & Brunch
Saturday August 13, 10:00 am

What is Tisha B'Av? It is the 9th day of the Jewish month of Av when we remember the destruction of the First and Second Temples. It was also the day of the expulsion from Spain in 1492 and England in 1290.

This year the Torah study group will be having a special discussion to understand the significance of Tisha B'Av through the readings of the Book of Lamentations.  Rabbi Bearman will also lead us through commentaries from scholars throughout the centuries about what this day has meant to our people and what it means to us today.

Tisha B'Av is a fast day, which starts on Saturday night. Torah study that day -- from 10:00 to 11:30 am -- will include a brunch to give us nourishment for the discussion and to help prepare those who choose to fast on the holiday.  Please join us for food, study and Ruach!  Make sure to email or call Kim in the Temple Office to so we have an estimate of the number who will be sharing the meal with us: [email protected] - 203-544-8695.
