David Dauch Continues Family Legacy Through Supporting Scouting...

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM) David C. Dauch continues his family's legacy of providing strong leadership and financial support of Scouting in Southeast Michigan.

Director of Development for the Great Lakes Field Service Council Gerry Granum sat down with David to discuss why Boy Scouts of America is so important to him and his family.
Q: Who has influenced you the most in making the decision to work with and support the BSA?
Dauch: Without a doubt it was my parents who were huge role models for me growing up. Faith, family, friends and giving back to the community are the key tenets of my family. It's one thing to care about a cause and another to give back.
Q: You, your family and AAM have funded Scouting at a high level for decades. How do you feel when you see what your company, including the employees are doing for Scouting?
Dauch: I feel great! It's a chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our youth. I believe the employees of this company want to make an impact on youth programs and they understand commitment to a cause and leading by example. We have many Eagle Scouts that work at AAM and were impacted by Scouting.
