Call2ActionDear GW-CEPL Alumni and Friends,

The last few months have marked a season of celebration here at GW-CEPL, as most of us have attended or participated in a number of commencement ceremonies and year-end events. In this season we want to offer special recognition to the winners and finalists of our Cafritz Awards program, as well as to the students who have successfully competed our professional development programs, such as the District of Columbia Executive Leadership program and the Enterprise Risk Management certificate program, as well the graduates of our Masters in Public Leadership program, and the Graduate Certificate Program in Organization Performance Improvement.

We are very proud of you and your accomplishments!

At this time we are also reminded of the daily opportunities we have to "commence", or start, a new chapter in our lives, and to make conscious choices to stretch ourselves beyond our comfort zones. To our students and alums, our call to action is to take on those challenging organization change projects, or strategic initiatives, and to design small daily experiments which require you to engage with staff and peers a bit differently, or to take the risk of "leading up" to influence their managers.

It takes  real courage to engage your learning, to trust yourself beyond what you already know you can do, and to know that while your real potential may not be evident immediately, it is unfolding into something quite powerful and beautiful.  For that we not only recognize our students academic achievements, but also celebrate their courageous "commencements" into their chosen, expanded realities.

ERMThe Mandate for Public Sector Enterprise Risk Management

The highly anticipated update to OMB Circular A-123 was released on July 15, 2016. The policy changes in this Circular expand on existing efforts by
