A MESSAGE FROM DORIS
Greetings!
Recently we had the great experience of fundraising with our local Bird Rescue Center in Santa Rosa. Carol Pisetsky and Great-Horned Owl Wowl (pictured below) joined us at Oliver's in Cotati to support our efforts to raise money for our Raptor Recovery Center, which our organizations will share. It is always a joyous experience to work in collaboration with other wildlife centers for the same efforts.
As you all might have read in our last newsletter, we need help with a new work van for A Wildlife Exclusion Service, which generates fees and helps keep the doors open at Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue. Today the poor van just puffed its last breath from its tail pipe. We are temporarily using our rescue truck to do the nuisance wildlife work. Each day Michael McGuire, our exclusion director transfers all the equipment and tools from the dead van into the truck and then starts his busy day. In the evening, he has to unload everything back inside the van to lock it up to prevent theft. Now would be a great time to hear from you if you have any ideas or leads to securing a working van.
We are grateful for your support. When you reach for your checkbook you might think of it as a donation; but to us its love coming to the rescue. Besides rescuing and caring for the animals here, it is so rewarding to feel how generous and caring you all are regarding our efforts. Thanks for keeping our doors open. Our two wolf-hybrids residents Shela and Willy send their thanks for your continued support.
