Steve Blunt - Award-Winning Kid's Musician to Perform at Library 
August 10th, 4 PM
A fun, upbeat sing-along show guaranteed to burn calories and fuel the imagination! For summer reading 2016 Steve has created a special song, "On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!" reminding listeners that everybody wins at the library. With lots of laughs and audience participation, Steve's music is never a spectator sport. His catchy tunes and bouncy beats-featuring a healthy dose of music & movement for younger children - provide an opportunity for library patrons of all ages to exercise the body, mind & spirit. So get your game on-and sing along! 

 
Obstacle  Course  at Saco Valley Gymnastics, August 3rd, 4 PM 



Have you been to Saco Valley Gymnastics? It is an awesome place for kids! Stop by and check out their fun obstacle course. This event is part of the Summer Reading Program and is sponsored by the Friends of the Conway Public Library

Writing Group By Teens for Teens. Wednesdays at 6 PM Starting August 10th -- September 7th 
Led by  Olivia Couture and Kyleigh Smith, incoming Seniors at Kennett High School, this is a writing group for young people ages 12 and up to engage in discussion, sharpen their writing skills, respond to prompts, and prepare their works for various forms of publication. The 2016 Selection for 1 Book 1 Valley is "The Finest Hours" by Michael Tougias and Casey Sherman 
The 2016 selection for 1 Book 1 Vallley community read project is The Finest Hours by Michael Tougias and Casey Sherman. 

The book describes the simultaneous rescue missions for two oil tankers, each of which split in two during a severe winter storm off the coast of Cape Cod in 1952. It is a fast-paced, thrilling read, and it comes in a young reader's version as well as the original adult edition. A feature film based on the book was released in theaters in January 2016.
