Dear FJG Family,
We're gearing up for the next month's annual outreach program, Operation School Supplies (OSS). My father, Wendell Franklin started this operation ten plus years ago. OSS was begun to make sure that all children in our communities started school with the essential school supplies to be successful. Wendell wants to ensure every child that calls our apartment communities home to have the best opportunity in school. I am proud that his tradition lives on at TFJG. One of my favorite core values is, "Commitment - our passion is people". That not only applies to our TFJG family, but to our residents and their family members that live and play in our communities.

Operation School Supplies
This year, the communities have approximately 1,550 children that will be provided with school supplies with the tools necessary to be successful in the classroom.

United Way - DAY OF CARING
United Way's Day of Caring will be held this year on Friday, September 9th. TFJG will send several volunteers to Norfolk to participate at ForKids,Inc. and with the
Norfolk Redevelopment & Housing Authority at Young Terrace to help with landscaping, painting, general clean up, and more! TFJG has 38 spots to fill throughout the day - some are morning shifts, some are afternoon. Plan accordingly now so that several team members from your department or site can participate!

Park Place Luxury Apartments
The Gables Court Apartment community has been renamed to
Park Place Luxury Apartments. The 198-community has begun multi-million dollar renovations that includes a high-end unit interior renovation, clubhouse renovations, new exterior paint, curing operational deficiencies and deferred maintenance, re-branding the property, and implementing hands-on asset management and property management to re-position the asset within its sub-market. The community will also be upgraded to meet energy efficiency standards and feature a brand new state-of-the-art fitness center, business/conference center with complimentary Wi-Fi, and a luxuriously renovated clubhouse with an attached resort-class swimming pool and expansive sundeck. Each apartment will be renovated to include high-end custom finishes such as wood-grain vinyl flooring, granite counter tops, silver and black appliance packages, and brushed nickel fixtures throughout.

Catalina Crossing
The team at
Catalina Crossing keeps one thing in mind and that is motivation. As we all know, lease-ups can be a challenge but at Catalina Crossing they having kept each other motivated to get the community 100% leased. Natalie Nethery has been caught in the act by organizing a "mass" lease signing. Catalina had 12-move-ins scheduled for the day and Natalie motivated the future residents to come in and sign their leases together. This is a great way to get neighbors to become friends.
Catalina Crossing opened in June of 2016 in Chesapeake, VA and is currently 99% leased!

Greenwich Village allows residents to enjoy the height of sophistication with easy access to the famed Virginia Beach oceanfront with all of it's fine dining and outdoor fun, and Downtown Norfolk.

Summer Fun
Tanglewood Lake team members; Heather, Jeff, Amber, & Tim
hosted a picnic by the poolside for their community. The residents enjoyed having fun in the sun and danced to their favorite tunes with DJ Lady J. There was cool refreshing drinks, BBQ, raffles and more!

Community Garden
Community gardens are an ideal addition to an apartment complex.
The Woodlands at Phoebus has an enthusiastic group of residents who enjoy gardening. Resident Mary Ellen Reid said, "We have beautiful sunflowers that made an appearance this week. We planted about 7 weeks back and water them most evenings - especially with the heat we've been having. I'm now waiting patiently for the rest of the blossoms to catch up".
