BOOK CLUB
!!!! Tuesday July 19th,
Lab Girl
by Hope Jahren, CANCELED !!!!
August BOOK CLUB
Tuesday August 16th at 7pm. The Bee Keepers Apprentice by Laurie King.
In 1915, Sherlock Holmes is retired and quietly engaged in the study of honeybees in Sussex when a young woman literally stumbles onto him on the Sussex Downs. Fifteen years old, gawky, egotistical, and recently orphaned, the young Mary Russell displays an intellect to impress even Sherlock Holmes.
Full of brilliant deduction, disguises, and danger, The Beekeeper's Apprentice, the first book of the Mary Russell-Sherlock Holmes mysteries, is "remarkably beguiling" (The Boston Globe).
We usually spend about an hour talking about our book of the month.
We would love to have you join us!
For questions, call Linda Monk at 724-4089

The Minister's Summer
Rev. Russ is on vacation/study leave for July and half of August. Vacation is just like it sounds-I'll be gone for some of this time. "Study leave" is the time given to me, according to my contract, to prepare for the next church year. While I am not preaching during this time, I am available for pastoral care. The best way to reach me over the summer is my cell phone: 510-418-9891 and I text as well. I also will be reading emails (
minister-russ@uufscc.org).
See you soon.............Russ

Small Group Ministry
NEW GROUP STARTING IN SEPTEMBER
Small Group Ministry provides an opportunity to pursue the deeper spiritual questions, to be further challenged to social action and spiritual growth, and to express Unitarian Universalist principles and values in the congregation and in the larger community. Within the framework of groups of 8 to 10 people, Small Group Ministry allows us to be present in each other's lives in an open, supportive, and nurturing environment. A new group will begin meeting the week of September 5. Non-members are welcome to apply. Please pick up a registration form at the Welcome Table on Sunday or at the Fellowship Office. The final date to register is Monday, August 15. Questions? Please email Bonnie McDonald at <bonniemcd360@gmail.com>.
