The Boston Associaton for Childbirth Education and Nursing Mothers' Council
Jeanette Mesite Frem, MHS, IBCLC, RLC, CCE, CD started working with new moms and babies in 1992 in a village in West Africa, where she lived and worked for two years with a midwife and a nurse. She focused her graduate degree in public health around maternal and infant nutrition within disadvantaged populations. She has been working directly with families in the US as a birth doula, childbirth educator and breastfeeding counselor for more than ten years. She became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2013. She has a private practice called Babies in Common in Grafton, MA (babiesincommon.com).

Come find out what you can do to help a mother get off to the best start to meet her breastfeeding/lactation goals before she gives birth and after.
Appropriate for birth and postpartum doulas, doulas-in-training, community health workers, home visitors, visiting nurses, social workers, licensed mental health workers, speech-language pathologists, caseworkers, early intervention providers, psychologists, childbirth educators and others.
Continuing Education Credits: BACE-NMC: 7.5 contact hours. Approved by DONA International for 7.5 DONA International Continuing Education Hours, DONA Program Number: 665 (DONA credits are accepted by Lamaze and ICEA). Meets criteria of the Comm. of MA Board of Nursing regulations: (244 CMR, section 5:00) for continuing education for nursing re-licensure for 9 contact hours.
