Sixteenth Street - Waukesha now offering ADHD testing

As first announced at our open house event, Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers - Waukesha received a grant from the Waukesha County Community Foundation for the purchase of software and training to conduct ADHD testing. Over the past several years the clinic has been presented with many clients in need of ADHD testing. In most cases clients are waiting 3-6 months to receive the testing. As of this month, at our Waukesha location we now have two providers trained to test and several providers who can treat those individuals who have tested positive for ADHD. We have reached out to the school district to offer testing for those children who have been waiting and look forward to providing a much needed service locally.

Patients now receive three reminders before appointment.

At Sixteenth Street we are always working to improve the patient experience and make things
as easy and smooth as possible. We will now be sending all
patients two reminders before every appointment. Two days before an appointment patients will receive a voicemail. The day  before they will receive a text.

In an effort to make things even easier, patients can confirm, reschedule or cancel their appointment simply by responding to the text. To add a personal touch, we will also be sending birthday messages and no-show reminders.

The system has been implemented with Milwaukee medical patients and will soon be used for behavioral health, as well as at our Waukesha location for all patients.

We look forward to being in touch and making sure our patients have the best possible Sixteenth Street experience!
After 15 years at Sixteenth Street, Community HealthCorps funding discontinued.

The NACHC-funded Community HealthCorps® program was not successful in its re-application for the 2016-19 funding cycle.

Community HealthCorps® members have played an invaluable role at Sixteenth Street for the last 15 years. The members are embedded in programs that supplement patient care, such as medication assistance, Women's Wellness, clinical interpreting and translation, Environmental Health, WIC, Healthy Choices and Chronic Conditions.

We are devastated to see the program end and express a heartfelt thank you to all members that have served at Sixteenth Street.
Charles E Kubly Foundation awards grant for telemedicine.

The Charles E Kubly Foundation generously awarded Sixteenth Street with a grant to develop and implement a telepsychiatry program. The program will serve as a new standard within the state for reimbursement and as a new potential format for delivery of care for other federally qualified health centers. We are excited about this project and the future it holds for the delivery of care, both at Sixteenth Street and across Wisconsin.

Sixteenth Street - Waukesha has hired an AP/NP to begin at the end of August. This provider will offer Telehealth three days a week as a behavioral health (BH) prescriber. The state is suffering from a shortage of BH providers. By offering telehealth the clinic will extend services to an additional 144 clients per month.
