While the phrase Dog Days of Summer can be traced to the Egyptians and appears in ancient poetic records of the Greeks (it has to do with the heilacal rising of Orion's dog, the dog star Sirius, and is associated with hot, sultry weather), it is also known as a period marked by "lethargy, inactivity or indolence." We expect no lethargy, inactivity or indolence from our Warren County Wanderers! Plan your weekend, plan ahead, be safe out in the heat, and Happy Wanderings! |
