A Team's Farewell Letter to Cooper Hospital
Henry Love
Henry seems to have aged a lot over the past couple of months. The heat gets to him, but I think it's more that he's becoming truly elderly. It seems, I'm sad to say, that it's time for him to retire from his Cooper Hospital visiting.

I'm so grateful to Eileen and Kim at Cooper for welcoming us. Their appreciation and joy when they would greet Henry means so much to me. Our visits to Cooper have been moving, delightful, fulfilling in ways I couldn't have imagined.

Our experiences included pediatrics where Henry could get right in bed with a child, sometimes snuggling down like he could stay forever. Our special assignment to ICU staff after an especially horrendous week is something I will always treasure. We made the rounds of the surgical family waiting room on one visit. On another, we happened into the Trauma ICU waiting room. A woman and her family were overjoyed to see Henry. As she held and stroked him, she told us she just made the decision to take her son off life support, and that Henry was an angel who was sent to her that day.

Until he is a true angel, I will be watching over Henry to ensure his well-being. I'm happy to say he's coming to work with me full-time! I see patients hourly; he greets them at the door, sits at their feet for a few minutes of petting. S ometimes people want him in the chair with them, and some sit on the floor with him. A gentle job for a gentle dog!

Very best wishes,
Amy Love  and Henry

Shining Stars
Sue Soder & Cassie
Sue and her English Setter, Cassie, have been a PAWS team for just over a year and are involved in many PAWS programs and events. They have volunteered at Cadia Rehabilitation- Broadmeadow, HealthSouth (Middletown, DE), and most recently at the Appoquinimink Community Library. They also participate in many different community events including Barnes & Noble Book Fairs and the Chair Auction at St. Anne's School (just to name a few). What a great team!

Kathryn and her princess, Frangelica, have been a PAWS team since 2014 and received their Master's Certification in 2015. Kathryn has been involved in many different programs and trainings. Most recently she has helped PAWS partner with the Delaware County Court system in Media, PA, to establish a Courthouse Companions pet visitation program. PAWS is excited to begin and happy to have such dedicated teams in our ranks. We appreciate their exemplary service to PAWS!
