Go ahead and mark your calendars for the first school holiday, Labor Day, on Sept. 5! To plan further, use this print-friendly calendar to keep you in the know.
Schools set open house schedules

Carrollton Elementary School will introduce a new open house format this school year that will be more responsive to individual families' needs and better soothe first-day-of-school jitters that not only affect students, but their parents as well.

Following the successful parent-teacher conferences model, teachers will schedule individual visits to the classroom for each child's family rather than open the classroom to all at once.

Open house will be held on two days:

* Pre-K and kindergarten appointments will be scheduled for Friday, July 29, between 1:00 to 6:30 p.m.
* First through third grade appointments will be scheduled on Monday, Aug. 1, also from 1:00 to 6:30 p.m.

Open houses for the other schools are as follows:

CMS - Monday, Aug. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m.
CJHS - Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m.
CHS - Monday, Aug. 8, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This open house was rescheduled because it conflicted with the Trojans scrimmage football game at the same time.

Also, the Performance Learning Center will hold a "meet and greet" on Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the PLC.

Water Bill Roundup supports our schools
Those of you who have been in the Carrollton area for quite a while may remember when the City of Carrollton's Water Department rounded up water bills with proceeds supporting the Carrollton City Schools Education Foundation.

Well, It's back!  Here is a link  to the city's press release about the program to familiarize the rest of you about how this generous community effort benefits our schools. Note that this program is for City of Carrollton water customers only; other county water service areas are not participating.

It is very easy  to sign up through this link . Thank you in advance for supporting Carrollton City Schools!

 (CES & CMS Open House)
