August 2016
Community Development Director Retires after 45 Years
Community Development Director John Prescott joined the City as an assistant planner in 1971. Nearly 45 years and 2,600 Council meetings later, John retired this month from the City he helped shape.  John took a moment to pose with a City Hall oak tree dedicated in his honor.  We're wishing John the very best in this next phase of life.

 Water Conservation Update

Water Saving for the Long Haul
New local guidelines now allow outside irrigation three times a week during the summer and twice weekly in the winter for up to 15 minutes per station. This follows changes by the State that extend the drought emergency, but allow for greater flexibility on setting local water restrictions. As we
embrace water conservation as a way of life, the City encourages continued water-wise planting and irrigation.  For more information, rebates, or to report water waste, please visit our water conservation pages.

LA Rams Prepare to Settle in at CLU

Renovations Continue on In-Season Training Facilities
Grading and building installations continue at the new, temporary, in-season training facility for the Los Angeles Rams at California Lutheran University, and TOTV has been there to capture the progress. The Rams plan to begin training at the facility later this month. In addition, the team has set up administrative offices in Agoura Hills and several players and staff have purchased local homes. Join us in welcoming The Rams to our neighborhood!

 Pavement and Resurfacing Program Planned

Is Your Street Scheduled for Resurfacing?
Applications of overlay and slurry seal streets throughout the City will begin this month.
During construction, road closures and limitations on street parking and driving will be necessary. You can find more information about this project, or to see if your street is included, by visiting the project web page and signing up for updates.

Remaining Traffic Signals to be Installed

Flashing Yellow Arrows Help Calm Traffic
You may have seen the new flashing yellow left-turn arrows at intersections on Thousand Oaks Blvd., Moorpark Rd. and Hillcrest Drive. This month, signals will be installed at Thousand Oaks Blvd. at Rancho Road and Thousand Oaks Blvd. at Duesenberg Drive. Remember to yield at a flashing yellow and turn when safe. These arrows will reduce delays while allowing more flexibility for traffic management. Visit us online for a full list of sites, video and more information.
