Come enjoy a night out at the Houston Zoo just for educators! This one of a kind evening will feature ambassador animals, new STEAM activities, a special keeper chat and much more. Each of the activities during this event will provide you with ways that you and your students can help save animals in the wild. Earn 3 CPE hours while enjoying a night out just for you. Intel Decoding Diversity: The Financial and Economic Returns to Diversity in Tech report
Created in consultation with experts, the report provides the first of its kind analysis quantifying the economic impact of improving diversity specifically for the tech sector. The report looks at data from 167 U.S. companies and concludes that increased representation of African-American, Hispanic and female employees has significant economic implications, including driving productivity, growth and revenue gains in the technology sector.

Mark your calendar for Youth Code Jam's community-wide free event for kids ages 7 to 17 and their parents at ESC Region 20, 1314 Hines, San Antonio. We've got tons of awesome coding stations already planned and are currently looking for volunteer programmers. We are especially looking for folks fluent in Python, C, Scratch and who know how to program with Finch robots and/or arduino.

As part of the Week of Making White House Commitment, the Digital Harbor Foundation announced the Innovation Access Program in partnership with Printrbot, MatterHackers, and BuildTak. Through this new program, DHF  will provide a FREE 3D Printer and accompanying 3D Printing for Educators Workshop (also for free) to one educator from each of the 50 states. Applications are due Aug 31, and if you want to learn more check out the innovation access web-page.

The NSADay of Cyber, powered by LifeJourney, is a free, interactive, online career simulation and exploration platform that allows students to test-drive and experience a day in the life of our nation's cyber professionals. The platform provides approximately 2-3 hours of content where students have the opportunity to interact virtually with the NSA cyber mentors,  explore each respective journey, and take a seat beside the mentors in the NSA Cyber Threat Center in solving exciting “cyber situations”, intriguing crypto puzzles and other real-life cyber scenarios

The 2016 Siemens Competition is now open, with the chance to win college scholarships up to $100,000! Eligible high school students can submit to the nation’s premier high school science research competition until September 20th, 2016. The Competition website now features a new Resources page, complete with personalized student and partner toolkits designed to demystify the entry process and encourage the sharing of information.
Join our K-12 STEM Outreach Google Groups! These groups are all about sharing resources, information, events, volunteers, needs, and more with others reaching out to K-12 students aiming to excite them about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

About TxGCP & NGCP
The Texas Girls Collaborative Project (TxGCP) connects organizations and individuals across Texas committed to informing and motivating girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math. The TxGCP is excited to provide opportunities across Texas for collaboration, networking, sharing of best practices, and leveraging of resources through in-person forums, listservs and mini-grants.   

Led by the Women in Engineering Program (WEP) at The University of Texas at Austin along with a Leadership Team and Champions Board, the TxGCP brings together advocates and leaders from non-profits, K-12 schools, higher education institutions, companies and organizations across Texas.
The vision of the National Girls Collaborative Project (NGCP) is to bring together organizations throughout the US and Puerto Rico that are committed to informing and encouraging girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
