Annual Youth Mission Trip
After a great day of team building on Saturday (see human foosball above!), the mission trip got off to a great start on Sunday. 16 youth and 7 chaperones are living, serving, and learning alongside Lakota youth for the week in South Dakota. Please keep them in your prayers. We look forward to hearing the stories and lessons they bring back. Here's an update from Leah:
We have very limited cell reception. It's beautiful here, the horses wander around us tame, there's a German Shepherd named Pepper, we put up a tipi, talked around the fire, and were sung awake with a sun salutation at 6:00AM by Marla who runs the camp. The song was thanking the sun for returning. We've been going pretty non-stop fencing, cleaning, landscaping, taking inventory, and playing with Pepper. Leah

Family Camping Opportunity - August 12-14
Join Leah Romanelli and members of the youth ministry team on a family camp out Friday, August 12 - Sunday, August 14! We are heading to White Pi
nes State Park in Mt. Morris, IL. Hiking, fishing, riding, canoeing on the near-by Rock River, go-karting, compline under the stars-all at our finger tips! Price is TBD, but will be approximately $40 for camp site and food. Add-ons like riding, canoeing, and go-karting will be at each family's discretion. A restaurant is on the premises for those who'd prefer not to cook over the fire. Everyone of every age is welcome. Rising 7th graders and older may participate without a parent, younger children must have an adult present. Friends are welcome! Contact Leah Romanelli by Monday, August 1st to sign up.

Receiving Communion at Home
We have a group of trained lay chaplains within Christ Church who are happy to bring communion to you at home, at rehab, or at any nursing facility. A friendly visit with a caring lay chaplain brings the warmth of Christ Church to you, when you need the extra care. Simply call the office to request communion, or contact Deacon Heath at 847-853-9263, or at [email protected].

mental to our faith and a ministry of Christ Church. If you are facing illness, a life transition or challenging circumstances, please contact one of our clergy. We are available when you need us for a hospital, home, or office visit. Christ Church has many lay volunteers who are readily available to provide meals and rides as needed.
