UBBWA CLEAN UP DAY - AUGUST 6
GIVE A LITTLE BACK!
Come on out to the Upper Butte Basin Wildlife Area Clean-up Day on August 6th. Meet at Howard Slough WA and help with general clean up and blind maintenance. This is a great opportunity to scout for the upcoming season and to get a better idea of the wildlife area and how it's managed. CWA will provide lunch.

Volunteers should bring gloves, work boots and sunscreen, while water and insect repellent will be provided. Volunteers meet at 7:00 a.m. at the UBBWA headquarters located at Howard Slough Wildlife Area, 9256 Highway 162, Butte City 95920.

For more information, please call the UBBWA at (530) 982-2169.
YOUTH EGG SALVAGE BANDING DAY

More than three dozen lucky kids went to Rancho Esquon last week to band ducks that were hand-reared from eggs rescued from farm fields as part of California Waterfowl's Dwight L. Merriman, Jr. Egg Salvage & Duck Rescue Program. It was a great opportunity for them to participate, hands-on, in the final product of a wildlife-friendly agriculture process in which farmers let volunteers sweep farm fields for nests prior to harvest, mowing or disking. CWA partnered with 30 farms this year - a huge increase over the eight farms that participated in 2015. For more information about how to support or participate in the Egg Salvage Program, go to  www.calwaterfowl.org/egg-salvage.
