Upcoming Teen Programs
Online program registration can be found on 
Makerspace Mondays - June 27th - August 8th from 12-4pm
Explore, tinker, create! Exercise your skills with science, technology, engineering, art, and math. All ages welcome. Some of the tools we have include: Snap Circuits, LittleBits, Ozobots, Silhouette Cameo, Google Cardboard, sewing machines, and more! 
Gaming Afternoons - July 28 and August 11th at 3pm
Hang out. Play video games. Play board games. Eat snacks.
Thursday, August 11th at 3pm Act as your own playing piece and battle your way through Candyland... yes there will be candy! Volunteers needed in advance to help create it- sign up for the Program Prep Team!
Relaxation and Smoothies - July 20th at 7pm
Try out some relaxation techniques, make yummy smoothies, and learn about mental health.
Teen Recess - July 26th at 3pm
Come play jump rope, hula hoop, hopscotch and enjoy some crafts.
Library Olympics  - August 3rd at 7pm
Are you ready for the summer Olympics? Go for the gold! Join in an intense competition of chocolate and library-themed challenges.
Tween & Parent Book Club  - August 10th 
Read the books at your own pace and enjoy a discussion between parents and tweens. Copies of the books will be available at the reference desk at least 3 weeks prior to meeting. RSVP in advance.
Hoot  by Carl Hiaasen discussion on Wednesday, August 10 at 7pm 

End of Summer Reading Party August 17th at 7pm
Party time! Hang out for a celebration of your accomplishments . Prize raffles will be drawn.

Teen Volunteer Opportunities

Tech Tutoring
Up to 4 hours per week (scheduled). Come in for a two hour morning shift on Tuesdays and/or a two hour evening shift on Thursdays to help people with questions about their iPhone, Android, Kindle, etc.


Adopt a Shelf 1 to 5 hours per week (flexible). Keep our library tidy! You will be assigned a shelf in the library to keep organized throughout the summer. Come in throughout the week and make sure that your shelf is in the correct alphabetical or Dewey Decimal order.

Program Prep Team Up to 4 hours per week (varied, but scheduled). Are you interested in having fun and helping people your age and younger? Help out the teen & children's librarians with preparing for and running library events. Opportunities will vary from week to week and must be planned in advance. Help the library get ready for a craft, Quidditch match, game time, or another event!

Makerspace Ambassadors Up to 4 hours per week (scheduled). Are you interested in creativity and technology? Help us out on Makerspace Mondays from 12pm to 4pm. We want you to be the expert. Learn our makerspace tools, like Snap Circuits, Makey Makey, sewing machines, Little Bits, Silhouette Cameo electronic paper cutter (and more!) and help teach other people how they work. You can even host your own workshop this summer!

Upcoming Adult Programs

Meditation - Saturdays at 10:15 am
Relax and rejuvenate with Sahaji meditation. Wear comfortable clothes. Register for each session by phone or in person.
Knitting - Wednesdays at 1pm
Come Wednesdays to practice your stitching skills! Admire the projects and enjoy the company of other local knitters!
Chair Yoga - August 3rd at 7pm
Get ready for an hour of chair yoga fun! Pan He, Yoga Allience Certified instructor and occupational therapist will guide you on a journey of balance and meditation.
Registration Required. This program is made possible by the Friends. 
Tech Tutoring  - Tuesdays, from 10am-12pm
                       Thursdays from 6:30pm-8:30pm
Receive help with your basic technology questions (phone, tablet, laptop) from a teen tutor. Bring your own device! All skill levels are welcome.
Twelfth Night  -August 9th at 7pm
A comedy about a cross-dressing, ship wreck surviving, poetry loving girl who finds herself at the center of a not-so-average love triangle. Abridged performance is suitable for children 12 years and older.  Presented by the Friends of the Library.
Tickets are required in advance.
Patrons $10, Guests $5, Friend Members $4
Warm Bodies - August 10th at 6:45pm
Glen Rock Public Library and the Science Fiction Association of Bergen County present: "Warm Bodies" (PG-13).
Registration Required: stop in or call.  Parents must accompany children under 13.
