9am-1:30pm

Learn how color, value, and the basics of atmospheric and linear perspective work together creating the illusion of depth in a composition.  The goal of this series, is to de-mystify the process of painting a 3-dimensionsal world onto a 2-dimensional surface.  These principles apply to many subjects, such as, still-life, landscape, interior, and figure painting.  Students will work from actual subjects.
  • You will receive group and individual instruction from a classically trained, artist/educator.
  • The classes include art history, demonstrations, critiques and practice.
  • Home project(s) are encouraged to reinforce learning
  • Each student should complete at least one painting.
$180 fee with registration form due September 9.  Register early to reserve.
Park entrance fee included.  Available rain date, October 12.

For information and to register, contact the instructor, Joan F. Tasca; Call 904.794.2594 or email [email protected]

Tasca holds a B.F.A. with a concentration in figure painting from the University of Delaware. As a postgraduate, she received Art Education Certification from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, attended Tyler School of Art and as a youth attended art programs at Moore College of Art and Philadelphia Museum College of Art.  Tasca has taught K-12, college, and community education.  Though multi-layered, her art reflects interest in the figure, nature and other subjects on the surface.  Tasca considers herself a natural realist who edits reality while using elements like birds or red shoes as symbols in her art.  See www.joanftasca.com.
