Time to register for Vacation Bible School (VBS)
August 1st-5th, 6:30pm-8:00pm

Edgebrook Lutheran Church and Edgebrook Covenant Church are excited to announce this year's Vacation Bible School (VBS) program called Expedition Norway.  Through this cross cultural program, kids will discover an exciting world of faith beyond their own backyard.  VBS is welcome to all children ages 3 (potty trained) through fifth grade.  This year's program will be held at Edgebrook Covenant Church, 6355 N Spokane Ave, Chicago, IL 60646 (one block south of Devon Ave and ELC). Register today!  http://tinyurl.com/edgebrookvbs

We are looking for volunteers to help teach and staff VBS! If you are interested, please go to the registration link above to sign up to be a volunteer. A background check is required. Forms for this can be picked up at the church office during the week or at weekend services.

The parking lot is finished!
A big thank you to everyone who volunteered to seal and stripe the parking lot! It looks great!

Outreach
Look what LSSI said about Undy Sunday!

I just saw the great picture of the socks and underwear in the Edgebrook email - nice job!  Both to you and to all the members of the church - it would be wonderful if we could clone congregations like yours.

Let's Continue Our Impact!

Be sure to stop by Fellowship Hall to see the large paper banner that has been hung there.  The clients and some of the volunteers at the New Hope Food Pantry of Norwood Park made it for us as their way of saying thank-you to ELC for ELC's support of the Pantry. One can see that a lot of grateful hands were involved in putting the banner together.

Each month ELC donates an assortment of personal care toiletries and items noticed to be in short supply at the Pantry.  Pancake mix, canned soup (other than chicken noodle), cake mixes, and side dishes such as Rice A Roni are always needed.

For a list of additional suggested items for donation, please see the tri-fold pamphlet on the table in Fellowship Hall and in the narthex.  Take one with you and refer to it when you shop for yourself or your family.  Your donations are needed and greatly appreciated as we have seen.  Donations should be placed in the wood cabinet on the west wall of Fellowship Hall in the labeled bins.

Thank you,

Ruth Ann Chaffee
