Ongoing Book Sale

Find a fantastic selection of books at the ongoing book sale hosted by the Friends of the Bergenfield Public Library.  The book sale offers popular fiction, non-fiction, foreign language, and music CDs and movies as well!  Check it out at anytime upstairs at the Bergenfield Public Library.

Summer Film Festival - August Movies
All movies start at 1pm in the Friends Room

 
August 2 - "Bridge of Spies" - PG-13
The true story of U-2 spy plane incident during the Cold War and the swap of the pilot for a top KGB spy as told by U.S. lawyer (Tom Hanks) who helped arrange it. Nominated for 2016 Oscars including Best Film.






August 9 - "A Most Violent Year"- R
During N.Y.C's most violent year, 1981, an honest immigrant fights for his business and his family against unscrupulous, entrenched rivals. (Oscar Isaac , Jessica Chastain, 2014)






 
 August 16 - "Brooklyn"- PG-13
Young girl who immigrated in early 1950's faces decisions about love and new life in Brooklyn and new possibilities in her Irish hometown. Saoirse Ronan, nominated for 2016 Best Actress Oscar.







August 23  - "Appaloosa"

Ed Harris and Viggo Mortensen as lethal, itinerant lawmen hired to protect a town from a murderous rancher but have a falling out over a woman, played by Renee Zellweger (2008)







August 30 - "Joy"- PG-13
Jennifer Lawrence as real life inventor/entrepreneur, Joy Mangano who against all odds and hamstrung by her wacky family, struggles for success. Also stars, Robert DiNiro, Bradley Cooper.( 2015)

Adult Yoga Series
Begins on Monday, September 19th at 7pm

Only $10 per class, pay in advance or as you go!  All levels of yoga experience are welcome.

YA Gaming Club
Thursdays at 2:30pm

The video game club promotes social interaction while providing  a fun and challenging environment. Teens in middle school and High school are welcome.  Come and play current and retro video games in our YA lounge with new gaming chairs and beanbags.

Game Night
Tuesday August 9th at 6:30pm

Come play life size versions of some of your favorite games! From Pac-man to Jenga, to Angry Birds.  Come bring the games to life.

Children's Corner  



This year's Summer Reading theme for children is "On Your Mark, Get Set...READ!" All summer long, keep track of your child's reading online using Beanstack.   Click here for more information or to register.  Roy Brown students can earn extra credit for participating, remember to hold onto your reading log!  As you read over the summer, make sure to fill out your log. You can track either books or pages!  If you've read and logged 20 books (or more), you will be invited to attend our Summer Reading Club Party in September.


Dino Camp
August 16th at 2pm

At Dino Camp, children will learn all about dinosaurs.  Find out fun facts, from how dinosaurs got their names and what the names mean, to the differences between carnivores and herbivores.  Children will measure how big each type of dinosaur was and even make their own dinosaur!
