Welcome

Welcome to the May 2016 Edition of the Real Times.

As I have mentioned in previous May newsletters, congratulations to those readers who have students graduating high school or college this month and special wishes to all those Moms for Mother’s Day.

In this edition, we have lots of good information on how to avoid spam and educate yourself about Grayware, Adware, and Madware, yeah really Madware, and ways to keep your computer free of the pesky stuff.

We also included a great tech tip on customizing your folder options in Windows.

Remember that if all this seems like too much to keep track of, Real Time can help. Reach out to your Real Time representative for information on programs to reduce your involvement in your company’s IT overhead while at the same time, control IT related expenditures.

That’s it for May. See you in July.

Business Continuity Tip
Arm Your Smartphone

Chances are your smartphone is within arms reach right now. It's no surprise then that our phones are often the first source of critical information and updates in the event of an emergency.

But with so many options for information out there, how do you know where to start? To help you narrow it down, here is a list of top three favorite apps available to both iPhone and Android users
  • NOAA Now App - The latest information on severe weather in your area, including quick status updates about tropical systems or weather watches. From hurricanes to tornadoes, this app covers it all.
  • Red Cross First Aid App - Lifesaving information on how to handle the most common first aid situations. With videos, interactive quizzes and simple step-by-step advice it's never been easier to know first aid.
  • FEMA App - Preparedness information for different types of disasters, an interactive checklist for emergency kits, a section to plan emergency meeting locations, and information on how to stay safe and recover after a disaster.
And remember, the best time to prepare for a disaster is always before one strikes. Don't wait until an emergency to download these apps. Take a few minutes today to prepare for tomorrow.
