Hello Habitat Friends,
June 25th was a beautiful day -- we had perfect weather for the dedication of the Central Avenue homes and it was wonderful so many of you could join in the celebration. Thank you to
Ayer Selectman
Gary Luca, Senator Jamie Eldridge, North Middlesex Savings Bank VP Tom Dufault, Ayer LPC Chair Pauline Conley, and St. Andrews' Reverend Billie Mae Gordon for being a part of the ceremony. Our appreciation also to our sponsors, many volunteers, and local faith communities for joining in this important event as well as our wonderful family advocates who have helped the families through every stage of the process
. It was
a joyful day made even better by the last speaker,
the families' new neighbor, who came forward to present the Dengs and Aouanes with the traditional gifts of bread, salt and wine.
The families are joining a warm and welcoming community. Be sure to check out the
video of the dedication below and congratulate the families on their new homes when you see them in town next week.
The spirit of community felt at the dedication has been carried on throughout July. As we prepare for our next critical home repair project, this time in Stow, the generosity of companies and sponsors continues. Emerald Acres of Maynard stepped forward to help us with pest control so volunteers can safely work, LaFrance Hospitality, developer of the new hotel in Littleton, donated a money ribbon to us at the opening of their new hotel, and a generous Middlesex Bank grant provided just under half of the funds needed for the project. We are so thankful and know that many more local companies and organizations will step forward to get the project fully funded and complete long before the snow flies.
With gratitude to you all for your generosity of time, talent and support,
Carolyn
