Summer Musings:

Touched

"Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only what is useful for building up, as there is need, so that your words may give grace to those who hear."

                                                                                                 Ephesians 4:29 (NRSV)

Have you ever known one of those people who speaks with such beauty that it gives pause.  Have you ever known one whose words give grace?  I have.  My New Testament Professor in seminary, Sze-Kar Wan was one.  It was a thing of beauty to hear him speak.  He used words like Vermeer used a paint brush.  There was clarity, precision and pure loveliness in the way he chose his words and spoke his sentences.  It did not matter if he was presenting a simple idea or a deeply complex theology, I always left his presence feeling "built up", like I had just received a beautiful, grace-filled gift and I was grateful for it.

Programming at UCW continues over the summer

Prayer Group will continue to gather in the stillness of the Crocker Chapel  on Wednesday mornings at 7:30 a.m. throughout the summer.  This is a "drop-in" time of prayer meaning you are welcome to come whenever you can.  We start with 20 minutes or so of meditative silence before sharing with each other and with God the prayers on our hearts and in our community.  If you are looking for a pocket of peace or a place of stillness in the busyness of your days, we warmly encourage you to try prayer group.  It is remarkably refreshing.

Open Coffee with Pastor Stacy .  Stacy welcomes you to share coffee/tea and conversation every Wednesday morning at 9:00 at the Starbucks in Waban Square.  Have something on your mind or just want to say "Hi" ?  Why not stop in?

Waban Health Worship is scheduled for August 24th at 10:30 a.m .  Come join in the Spirit filled worship with Union Church and Waban Health Friends.  If you would like to participate in the service, please be in touch with Pastor Stacy.
