1. Exercising may be as good as surgery for knee pain in middle age, this recent study shows.  First, do no harm!
Tattoo
2. Getting Tattoos may boost your immune system.  I love this study for a lot of reasons, but mainly because it reinforces what we know about needling.  It's good for you and your immune system!  There is considerable science behind the skin response in reference to stress and immunity.  Good stuff!

Acupuncture Research News
Migraines1.  Acupuncture shown to be effective for migraines and tension headache prevention.  Wouldn't you rather invest a bit of time and money in acupuncture to enjoy your life free from headaches?

Stretching helps knees too
 2. Clinical Case study of a 70+ year old patient with 12 year history of neuropathy whose symptoms were dramatically diminished within 4 visits.  Again, after just a bit of time and money, and he's able to feel his feet again. Worth a try!
3.  The basics of my project is to use stress monitoring to better determine best acupuncture treatment for each patient.  There are many aspects to it, but if you want to see a few cases, please look at the blog under Clinical Acupuncture Cases for my original studies.  For example, an example of a patient who gets treated for multiple sclerosis, a patient with anxiety and eosinophilic esophagitis, and an additional case of neuropathy.  These cases are a few of the cases I follow.
5. Text of my recent submission to the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine concerning functional movement disorders is here.

OliverI'm a great fan ofJohn Oliver, and here he takes one huge problem with scientific research.  Most studies that are completed are never verified by other researchers. Furthermore completed studies are often overblown in the media and reported incorrectly leading to false conclusions and false hopes.

Hope to see you soon.  As always, more at the blog.  Live well and be well!

With warm greetings,
