Katharine Whiteside Taylor Bursary Awarded
The Katharine Whiteside Taylor Bursary is a scholarship named in honor of Dr. Katharine
Whiteside Taylor, a founding member of Parent Cooperative Preschools International (PCPI).

The bursary provides financial support to assist in the continuing education of parents and  teachers currently participating in a Canadian cooperative or parent participation preschool.  The bursary committee was very pleased with the strong response to the bursary competition  this year. There were candidates from several regions of Canada and applications from both  teachers and participating parents. Many of the applicants had outstanding qualifications and  were well supported by recommendations from their schools.

This year we had two very equal candidates so we have shared the award between them.  Madelaine Hittos, is a teacher at Countryside Preschool in Saanichton, B.C. and Andrea  Undseth, is also from British Columbia. Andrea teaches at Inglewood Parent Participation Preschool in West Vancouver.

Both teachers will be using the award to fund their continuing education goals and we are very  pleased that the KWT Bursary will help support their efforts.

For further information on the Katharine Whiteside Taylor Bursary please check our website or  contact Catherine Shaver. Applications for the next year's bursary  will be available in January, 2017.

More information about grants offered by PCPI can be found on the website.
