September CMH Lunch and Learn to discuss understanding varicose veins

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) will host a free Lunch and Learn seminar on understanding varicose vein disorders and complications on  Friday, Sept. 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the CMH Community Rooms, located at 1500 N. Oakland in Bolivar. Information will be presented by Board Certified Surgeon Martin S. Tyson, D.O., FACS, FAPWCA, FAPWHc in practice at CMH Wound & Hyperbaric Center and CMH Surgical Services Clinic.

More than 25 million Americans suffer from severe varicose veins, which can cause significant pain, numbness, swelling, fatigue and disfigurement. Half of all seniors, including two thirds of women over 60, will experience the condition at some point. Heredity, pregnancy, obesity and careers requiring extended standing, like nursing and teaching, are the primary risk factors. Complications may include leg ulcers and dangerous blood clots.

A light lunch will be served and reservations are requested.
